what do you think of Chinese wholesalers?

I do business online,wholesale and retail clothes and shoes to worldwide.

i have found that there are lots of different views to Chinese wholesalers.some persons like doing business with them,but other people do not,as they are many spammers.

I've heard that the general rule of thumb is that if your stock offered is priced to good to be true - then walk away.
Also, you cannot get genuine branded goods from china.

I accept their are many respectable and honest suppliers in China who produce good well made products, if they want your custom they would be more than happy to guide you to a UK or European distributor and also supply demonstrators or samples.

I agree regarding branded goods. I would never, for example, try to buy branded perfumes, trainers, etc from China as they are patently fakes. It is possible , though to buy 'copies' of products which look similar to branded goods, yet display no logos or other marks signifying the brand.

Many of these products are as good, or almost as good as the 'real' thing, but a lot cheaper.

It is risky buying from China, as it is from many countries, even the UK, where there is always the possibility that you are going to be scammed, or potentially scammed.

Overseas suppliers are naturally more suspect. Somehow, you have to reassure yourself of their bona fides before taking a calculated risk.

I have started dealing with a chinese supplier and have been successful so far. I will always be wary, but as business grows so does confidence.

Caution is the watchword.

A few things to look out for when dealing with China, and to be honest yes there is a lot of fakes out their and you have to be careful as some regions of China are Notorious for producing fakes.
But then you have to ask yourself why manufacture is on its arse in this country? becuase a hell of alot of the high streets go there.
So you might find that some products are the real deal, BUT they are either out the back door or factory seconds. And you are going to be playing a dangerous game getting factory seconds of High Street Brands and selling them in your own retail outlet.

Avoid alibaba like the plague and if any chinese firm wants to deal with you and start mentioning Western Union then avoid, you also have to be careful with brokers, these are more likely to rip you off.

I would personally research some companies over here and spend £300 on a flight and go and meet the manufacturer. Or pay a little over the odds and go to aliexpress, when dealing on ali express the person doesnt get the payment until your items are signed for...and make sure you open the packaging before you sign for it, you may end up with a house brick.
