What do I do with my site?

I have a website which I launched last year http://www.allabouthouses.co.uk and to be honest haven't done much with. As I am in a lull period at the moment, now is the ideal time to get it to start generating some money. I need to change host as my current host is emigrating and I need someone who knows Joomla as I need to get some Google adwords on there which I don't know how to do as I had the site built for me. All I have is a CMS to update content.

Do you think Google adwords will generate an income for me or do you have any other ideas on what I could do to get some money from it. I'm not talking a wage here just seems a shame that it is sitting out there and not generating anything. I have had some good feedback about the site so I need to get myself motivated and do something

One way of making income from your website is dedicating space to Advertisements, as you will see on most websites they have them!!!

Would make a good site for affiliatation selling the new HIPS scheme introduced by the government. Other advertisers could include Mortgage lenders etc...

Infact I can think of quite a few for that domain

Personally, I wouldn't choose Adwords. You'll not earn that much money really from it.

It is a difficult one. In order to make money from Adsense, you have got to have some serious amount of traffic flowing through your site!

To make money from advertising you have got to be willing to get on the phone and cold call, or pay someone else to do it for you which can be expensive.

Can I just ask - did you write all that content yourself?

Na not really, a whole industry exists around Affiliate Marketing - and I believe this domain could range across a number of sectors quite easily in turn gaining a fair profit.

Affiliate marketing it is then. I have a couple of Affiliates on there already but I'm not making the most of them. Need to read up on it a bit more I think and really go for it

You are quite right Martin! I was not thinking of Affiliate marketing sorry - I was talking about selling advertising space directly to companies as apose to Affiliate marketing.

Though I would add that Affiliate marketing is not as easy as it might first appear and it requires high traffic to generate any serious income.
