Police is sitting for days watching people loot stuff, burn shops, buses, cars etc and cant do one little thing about it. Shame its an Afghanistan in London and they still care about the one on the other side.

Who says we are any better the Syria or Egypt.

London Riots show the incompetence on the UK Police. Our Prime Minister who can only come on telly and do talks is busy chatting some foreign waitresses. Shame shame shame.

I agree with what Batra is saying. The looters have been left to steal for days with no action being taken. One woman even stopped to try her trainers on for size before taking them!

It's a joke. Just look at the scenes in Hackney right now...

It's one thing trying to keep the calm but at what expense?

I disagree that this shows police incompetence. I do not think this shows police incompetence at all, I think what it shows is mob rule.

The police are doing what they can, within awful British restraints.
For every person who throws a stone at an officer should be sentenced in prison for a substantial time without the "mod cons".
For everyone who damages another persons vehicle, they should be made to work hard and give that money over to the person and not keep any of the money until the owner is re-imbursed fully and any losses the owner has made, be added on to that bill.
For everyone who insults an officer, they should receive a fine.

These criminals should not be getting away with this but imagine being a police officer in the middle of this. For every baton strike, there is an enquiry and extensive questioning, countless accusations of unnecessary force, racism etc etc etc. Imagine the paperwork and the cost to the public while the officer is on suspension while following procedures.

This government was supposedly going to give the police more teeth, yet what we see is quite the opposite, we see reductions in numbers of officers.

If the police go in any harder than what they are, there are many awaiting media and criminal sympathisers and mob support groups lining up to say how heavy handed the police were.

I have every respect for them and for the injured officers I wish them well and pray they be well soon and pray for the well being of the officers there who are in the middle of a civil unrest.

I Love Spreadsheets

I'm not sure if its restraints Consistency that holds them back but good policing.

If they did charge in to the crowd what would happen? More injuries? more community unrest? riots over a bigger area?. By keeping it in one place they reduce the risk of injuries to police and the rioters, it keeps the damage in one place and allows the police to film everything that is going on. Dont think for one minute the only people that will be getting arrested are those arrested at the riot, the Police will spend weeks even months going through photos and videos so they can arrest those involved.

Anyone else notice last night that the only shop not being looted was the Pizza shop which didnt have a mark on it?

Well said. They need to allow the police to 'clamp down' on these people. They seem to put the 'human rights' of the looters above those of everyone else.

These people today aren't protesting about anything, they are just out to riot, loot and damage property. Hopefully they are are caught, locked up and made to pay back the money for the damage they have caused.

The Police need more tools available to them - water cannons spring to mind or rubber bullets.

I have posted on this subject on other threads. Just wondering about the veiled use of swear words as in the title of this thread. Wasn't someone recently banned for the very same thing.

Forgive me as I'm a newbie but what is allowed in terms of swear words and veiled swear words?

I don't want to break the rules of the forum, although some of the responses I've had to my posts do make me feel like swearing!!!

I think the banee was banned for swearing at another member (albeit veiled swearing with, for example, a replaced with @) in a post, rather than for the thread tittle. And they were, I gather, already on a last warning.

I could be wrong, wouldn't be the 1st time.

It would be good to have some hard and fast rules. I think I saw the tormentor deliberately trying to wind them up and I have seen the same person in the SEO forum talking absolute rubbish and again trying to "flame".

No one knows what this persons last warnings were for and as you are not allowed to discuss it, then I doubt we will ever know!

My experience of the forum is not good. I do wonder what it is all about(apart from money of course).

Yes it would be good to have some hard and fast rules, and then banned members could not keep popping back up - or forum members setting up another account, just to try and wind the board up.

Why so interested (new member) ;) in what someone got banned for?
So, long as you abide by the rules it does not matter what other people post.
You do seem to have noticed a lot, for a new member:D

The police can only "contain" the trouble. Yes it is very annoying to watch people loot and damage.......try that in your local supermarket and see how long the police will turn a blind eye to it.

I suggest we bring out a few sex starved gorillas..........the streets would clear in seconds.
