hi

I am looking to make a website in which I can display all my own brand name products, but I do not know where to start.

can anyone provide some examples of websites or names

Personally, I would start by talking to some professional website designers and builders.

Building a successful website takes more than 5 minutes, especially if you are not sure where to start. Get some ideas and prices together. Ask questions of the website businesses. Go to see them, if necessary, until you are sure of what you want and how to achieve it.

Hi I went down this route initially to save money. But it took soooo long and it was really complicated that I gave up. I spent hours and hours trying to put together a site. Eventually I realised that my time would be better spent on my business. I think you need to ask around and find other people who have used a website designer that you can trust.

Another thing I learnt was that building the site is just the first step. You also have to make sure the site gets high in google. I was relieved once I found a website designer I could trust as she explained it all to me and made sure my site was designed to attract and keep visitors. Once I realised what was entailed I felt daft for trying to do it all myself when I'm not a website designer. By the way if funds are tight why not ask the website designer if he/she offers flexible payment options? Mine did and it helped a lot :)

Try EKM powershop its only £60 to sign up and then from £20 per month.
I have been using them for a while and happy with what they provide. They will submit to all the search engines etc etc

Choose as template add a logo and your products and away you go

Excellent advice from Katie H.

One thing we're seeing more of is people who are disappointed with the websites they've paid thousands for, which are not easy to use and rank poorly in search engine results.

Be really careful who you choose - loads of web designers will offer the earth, but the best way of finding out if they deliver is by talking to as many of their clients as possible.

A good free starting point is to set up a Facebook page for your business, which will let you display plenty of product images, news etc.
