Website Design, development and hosting

Hi web developers/designers

I am looking for a beginning to end service and absolutely prefer those with a portfolio showing property site development and who are able to provide client references.

I have a basic spec drafted... please PM for a copy, I would like to know what else you would need to be added to the spec and your price for design/development/launch and ongoing hosting and SEO please.

Launch must be Mid April 2012, so please don't quote if you are too busy to meet the deadline.... I can't take the pressure ha ha ha

I would expect to be disappointed with only six weeks. It will be a rushed job for even a decent sized agency.

and this is exactly what I am trying to smoke out at the moment, I have had quotes from 3 days to 3 weeks to 3 months..... who really does give a straight answer and no it is not Rightmove style, that is why I have written a spec for review prior to actually

Feel free to send me the spec if you like - I can say now we wouldn't want to take the project on with only six weeks to complete, but if you want to see a quote and eta for comparison then I'd do that for you.

The six week deadline is too short, I would have serious reservations about the quality of work, any agency worth its salt is going to be booked up 3 to 6 months in advance, (the one I worked with books a year in advance)

A few months in advance is standard. A year in advance!?!? That seems a little excessive. I don't know how they'd manage to complete anything booking jobs so far in advance.

Even so, I would think if I got the stage where I was booked up for six months I would take extra team members on. Having a years worth of bookings is worse than having none I would say.

We can usually start pretty quickly, as we have our researcher begin work into fleshing out a brief, ensuring we know exactly what we're doing and making the customer aware of any findings prior to the design team needing to begin. But a six week turnaround for what I am guessing is likely to be custom PHP. I would expect to have to pay very heavily or adjust the completion date.

They work with big brands who know that in September / November
they will launch a new car or clothing range and that the website and online advertising needs to be harmony with the rest of the advertising. it might just be a micro site or banner ads but the studio time is booked.

Hi Jackie,

As a general rule of thumb there are very few agencies who can offer all of the above as most just specialise within SEO or Website Development. The companies who do both tend to charge more. If you would like to use an independent SEO vendor, please let me know and I can draft a proposal for you when your website is live.

Its exactly what I do, and yeah you're right, the costs increase to offer a 'full' service.
