Hiya,
There are a number of sites offering an easy 3 page website, using a template.

Could i use one of these to provide customers with a website?
i.e. i buy their requested domain nmae, and use the wysiwyg editor provided, and upload their requested info, then pass the charge (plus my fees) onto the customer?

I don't want to learn html, but just provide really basic websites to small businesses.

Is this way acceptable?

Define 'acceptable'?

Is it 'acceptable' to buy a used car from a garage where they know nothing about cars? the quality of the car you are buying? or even if it's roadworthy? but they sell it to you as if it is?

That just about sums up my last car purchase :)

It is feasible but you will struggle I think to find customers that know so little about the internet and what a web site is that they would be happy with your solution. Most people know the basics now and to be honest people are getting more savvy not less.

you can do it but only as long as the customer knows its a template and they only have to pay you to register the domain and type up the information/add images etc! you can't charge web design fee's and you can't offer support unless you know html! you could do the site then pass the support bit on to someone else...like me ... depending on the types of templates you're using ofcourse.

As others have said, if you overt about what the service you are providing is, the limitations of it etc and price accordingly then it probably is "acceptable".

Will you get business? Almost certainly if you can get leads as there are still plenty of people out there that want a website on a shoe string. The one downside having known others in this market is that the percentage of repeat business and referrals tends to be low as the success rate of the sites are also low making keeping a constant stream of leads difficult.

As others have said, it may well be worth either simply selling the leads your receiving or outsourcing the work either to your "partners" or a company that does a white label service depending on what your preferences are.

I can understand you're trying to get into a market that could give more business.

with web design, is like fashion design, you can buy a pair of knickers down at Primark for about £1, or people could go for quality of design. The problem is a company image can be based on their website and embracing new technologies and reaching to current and new customers, therefore would a company save on image and brand in order to spend on stock ?.
