Hey Guys

I’m looking to see if anyone can give me some inspiration having had a domain name and hosting sat around for a while im thinking about starting up a new website which will sell anything and everything. Now im just wondering if anyone knows whether or not I would be better doing something specific as well as the online shop I am thinking about running an online blog and forum and a normal site as well but am just looking for some ideas.

Surely an e-commerce site is a normal site? Or what is an abnormal site?

I have some free hosting collecting dust until April if you need it. However, The domain isnt very suitable - Flux-Graphics.co.uk

I think it might be best to go for something more specific from a marketing point of view, whats the domain name?

I think some more information is required, otherwise before the day is out you will have offers to host your website, where the hosting company will pay you, make you tea in the morning and put you too bad in a double king size bed with Egyptian cotton covers...!!

Im bascially looking for ideas, as im not sure what to do with this free e-commerce site, I have it and I feel I should create some site.

whats your business model?

From my experience don't create a site for the sake of it. Create it because:

1. You want to create it
2. You are prepared to put the work into it needed
3. You have a product or products ready to sell
4. You feel you can make a profit from the venture.

I've done what you are looking to do and looking back on it, it was doomed to fail from the start. Simply because my heart wasn't in it.

In that case Kevin, spend your half term break studying, get a job that pays well in the industry you are interested in, learn how that business works, save up and then look at starting up a business.

There are no short cuts to riches

Im not on hlaf term I left college a long time ago, I have been looking for a job in my industry but its so hard to find employment within the current situation

If you want to set up in ecommerce, then set up in something you are interested in. This way you will have more interest in making it succeed. Find the area you want then look for suppliers.

Try to get keyword targeted domain for e.g u want online shopping related then
buy url suchas :
Online-Shoppie dot com
buy-online-stuff
onlineshoppingz dot com
such sumthing like that..
that will help you in future + in ranking/position in search engines...
