It's not about the platform, its about optimizing delivery, everything, css, js, html, images, caches etc...
A CDN is just another way of delivering content. Poorly optimised content will be slower no matter where the site is hosted.

I do understand that there are companies out there which lack of coding skills and verbally attacking in public forum is a marketing strategy to grow their clientele.
Nobody is attacking anyone. You made a a number of statements which other members refuted. That's not an attack that's just normal forum activity.

For example you said:
On a further note, your notice is very helpful, and my website will score more than 75% by the end of the day.
Which this morning still scores 33/100 (https://web.dev/measure/). I wasn't attacking you I was just pointing out that you said angular is faster but Google suggests the opposite.

I made a general statement about marketing strategy. I didn't make it personal. Why are you making it?

The tool you provided is checking the mobile version of it, try this tool : https://pagespeed.web.dev/report?url=https://www.tillios.co.uk/

And check the desktop version. It's 90. As soon as the mobile version of it is 90 too, please call me optimisation specialist. Such a big deal....

CDN over a static server debate. This will be tricky to understand if you dont have network engineering experience, therefor you cant see the pros of a distributed hosting system.

Anyway, I suggest we get back to the topic, the OP is still trying to figure out what he actually needs for his business.

That's an older tool. The one you want to be using is the link I posted. Google no longer cares about desktop. GTmetrix gives you a D: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/tillios.co.uk/OMZ5n0oO/
and pingdom a C: https://tools.pingdom.com/#5f679f0c70400000

This isn't having a go at you. Angular and/or a CDN isn't faster any more than wordpress is slower. It's all about how you build a site and the sort of hosting you use.

If the OP want's a faster site they just need to stop using a page builder and get some decent hosting in the UK.

I think the OP has long lost interest in the thread!

    MTV News
    Sony Music

    All running on Wordpress.
Big companies and sites often use multiple technologies. Wordpress for content and news sites, for example, but other things elsewhere. For example, MTV news runs on Wordpress, but the rest of the site seems not to.

The other thing is that big businesses do not always make good choices: very often they can afford to run something crap because they are big.

More generally with this thread, I think there is a lot of bias towards what people like. Its a pretty common problem with developers as know one knows everything and "when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail". Its worth making an effort to step back and try to be more impartial.

I dislike Wordpress, but I will still use it where appropriate.
