I have been wanting to start a business ever since I joined this forum back in 2006 and now I am here, learnt so much!!

Mark

Thats exactly what I was like, felt great to actually have my 'own business' on a business forum! I joined in 2005 and eventually opened my shop a year ago (two weeks til our first anniversary actually)

Oh you know, I'm so chuffed for you, you have put a smile on my fuzzy face:D.

We are in a similar line of business and I know how hard it is and how long it takes to set up so I wish you all the best. It's also good to know someone who does this kind of stuff as we often get ask and I look all dumb:rolleyes:, at least now I know who to refer them to.

Lots of luck!!:D

By the way, do you produce your products onsite yourself or outsource?

Looks great :D would be good to have a t shirt in the window with "get ready for Christmas" in big red letters, if you haven't already lol

Thanks, we are just carrying out a window display for breast cancer awareness this week and we have a few halloween t-shirts and then its our Christmas project to roll out.

Good Luck with it all - it looks great!

Did you see the news - there was fashion show in the NE over the weekend, the models of ALL ages - were all people who had survived cancer.

The man behind the George label, and Next, to name a few of his outlets was the person responsible - having had a brain tumour himself several years ago, he was raising awareness as well as money for a Cancer Charity

Hope all goes well for you - and well done for making your dream come true.:)

Thanks Poppy, its been an exciting journey thus far and am sure that will continue for both me and my partner.

I did see that on the news, was great of him to do this. Most of the people modelling the clothes were people whom have recovered and beat cancer themself. We are promoting breast cancer awareness as part of our town chamber of trade organising it. Its been well supported, which is great news, there is a pink auction this sunday and they have even turned st marys lighthouse pink, a great cause!

Cheers,

Mark

Just an observation from looking at your shop front, but haven't checked out the website yet.

a. Shop sign looks great.

b. If you also generate photographs to put on the mugs/t-shirts, etc. that is not obvious just by looking at the front of your shop. It will be worth highlighting that if you also offer the service.

c. Should you ever be tempted to diversify, you might find sign-writing equipment uses similar technology and skills. Just a thought to bear in mind.

d. If you don't do photography yourself, it might be worth forming links with a few snappers up your way. I bet there will be occasions when people ask for it.

e. Ditto people who offer laminating services, or canvass wraps.

Good luck. Always an exciting time, opening a new premises.

Well done you! I love the photo of you and then that you have a photo of you on your t-shirt - very effective

What are your online thoughts?

Have you thought abou getting involved with local school events etc? would';ve thought that parents & kids would love to have their own photo on things?

Hi Mark

Your shop front looks very eye catching and should attract a lot of passing trade.

I can feel your excitement, as its all come together for you. I should be launching by December/January at the latest and I know the feeling of starting with an idea and seeing it blossom into a business.

Hard work but worth it ;)
