Don't go with a national provider such as Biffa or Sita, they tie you into a contract, and then increase the intro pricing, and when you go to cancel you have to give them 6 months notice. Or in Sita's case 11 months notice.

Some local providers are normally the best and cheapest. Or if I remember rightly http://www.wastecollection.co.uk/ is a decent website to get a quotation from.

Just remember to watch out for additional charges, such as environmental documentation, etc....

i ask becuase im thinking of setting up a waste collection service. and just trying to sort out prices for commercial waste.

also going to do residential waste aswel thinking along the lines of a
2kg bag full = £1

already have in the region of 100 local business in the pipeline just need to sort the fine details out

with my contracts there will be none of that need to give notice rubbish if they wish to leave then all they need to do is let me know on there last collection.

I know a little about this.

The problem is what to do with the waste, as it is not cheap to dispose of. Especially if it is mixed, then you will be paying a premium. You pay in a region of £55 to £120 per tonne for mixed general waste, depending on your location.

Look at the following websites, who all do something similar. All 3 have a slightly different approach, you will also see they focus on recycling.

http://www.paper-round.co.uk/
http://www.thelaundry.biz/
http://www.first-mile.co.uk

You will have to consider the legislation, as you need to have a record of the collection, and where the waste will be disposed.

If you are just looking to get prices then contact the major players and see how much they charge for disposing of waste:

Biffa
Sita
Shanks
etc.....

If I remember rightly a 1100 Litre bin is charged at around £0.70 a day and x amount per uplift.
