Warehouse Space.

Would anybody mind posting up what they are paying for a small warehouse unit and area please.

I currently am using containers but am thinking about the warehouse route next.

Prices and sizes would be great guys.

im thinking around the 2000 sq ft mark.

I think it also depends in the area you are in, I would say for a small 1000 sqft your looking at £500/600+vat per month tied into a contract.

Why not take a look on a few commercial property sites for the rates.

When we went from a home business to commercial premises we looked into renting but ended up buying as the rent was the same as the mortgage. Of course you have to put down a 25% deposit for the property.

I have a warehouse for about £3.80 + vat per sq foot. That's applicable fr 1000' + 3000' units that are in an internal complex so very secures as well. That's in South Wales and the cheapest about. Hard to get anything below £5/6 and especially if you are fussy on area or want passing trade. I decent facilities and security so more than happy with the price. Might have to upgrade to a room with a view soon though.

Depending upon what you are doing it may be worth looking at a fulfilment company. They will take your stock in what ever form it arrives, and then when orders come in pick and pack and arrange collection. Becaues fulfilment companies have high volumes of items dispatching they get low next day (with full track and trace) delivery rates, £4.99 for upto 31kg.

Orders can be sent via email or integrate into any existing systems or website (even ebay etc).

If you think this may be for you call fulfilment advisors 0161 772 7729, we provide free advice on fulfilment companies. Even if you have specialised needs we will locate an appriopriate supplier. We also have a calculator that lets you understand the cost fulfilment companies will charge.

The post from Fulfilment Advisors is correct, depending on your needs, using a fulfilment house may be your best option.

Here at UK Fulfilment we store and ship a wide variety of items for a number of web based retailers.

Storage here is extremely cheap compared to renting your own place, in fact we have customers who are paying lees now per month for their entire service (excluding carriage costs) than just their rent was costing them when they ran their own order processing operation. That is not including, rates, insurance, staff, equipment etc. etc.

We would be happy to disciss your requirments with you and provide you with a no obligation quote.

I have Private Messaged you my contact details.

In Lincoln the going rate seems to be £5 to £7 per square foot, although it depends on the length of lease you're willing to take. Flexible terms attract a premium price.

One development at North Hykeham near Lincoln has a range of units being built. there's a list of units, sizes and prices which might be useful to compare.

Hope you find something suitable at a good price, there seems to be some bargains about at the moment!
