As the title suggests, we are looking for a developer that can create a Magento module that will work with our EcomMerchant gateway. Whilst we are not in a position to pay for the creation of the module, we can offer referral fees for anyone that you send through who successfully signs up for our service as well as a link to your site via our developers page on our 'payments' section of the website. We will also recommend yourself for Magento development/site creation should a merchant come to us first.

We have had other modules created this way successfully (including PrestaShop recently) and we are very keen to add Magento to the list.

If anyone is interested please forward your details. We can provide pay page integration documentation, plug-in creation guide, test account and test card details.

Thanks,

Simon

How are you not in a position to pay for this?

Surely it is an investment to have a module which integrates Magento to your gateway. Your Gateway will be getting over looked by a lot of people if it is not compatable with Magento considering how many people use Magento.

Just my opinion. If you have a budget for it we can take alook but we couldn't do it for free sry.

Its a lot of work to do on the promise of referral fees IMO

any Magento site users here who think they would actually use this module (and thereby earn the developer some fees?)

We get a lot of requests for Magento from merchants applying for our service so perhaps the developer could sell the module on their site - in which case we could provide a link to the landing page with the module on. This is something we have done with other carts successfully.

I think you're looking at it the wrong way.

Assuming you charge to use your payment gateway, you should be offering the Magento plugin for free IMO. If I was wanting to use your gateway, I wouldn't expect to have to pay to make it work with my chosen ecommerce platform (Magento, in this case).

If I had to pay, I wouldn't use you as a gateway, and I suspect a few others would feel the same too.

Just my 2p :)

I had the same argument with PayPoint about this... but they went the same way

That's probably why everyone continues to use SagePay

Yes I know someone created a free extension, but lets be honest, SagePay is a market leader so its reliable income to get referral fees from the extension. This payment offering is much less commonly used, yet would take the same amount of work to implement.

If you could put together a small consortium of clients who would be prepared to chip in on development for the module, that would be one way of funding it.

Ultimately though, I'm with NuBlue on this one.

you really like having a go at magento and all of its users, developers etc don't you?

this is a specific and complex module for a specific payment provider - if its created then the primary beneficiary will be the PSP themselves, hence the above comments

All these Magento developers using free software, but no one wants to contribute their own free software to the market?

I thought open source was all about peace and love and free software? Come on folks - why all this bizarre obsession with money all of a sudden?

Time = money and money = bills.

This would be a custom plugin, and used by very few people, so needs to paid for somehow. If it was a more publicly suitable plugin then they could advertise on it, sell it or have a pro version.

We are still looking for a developer that can provide us with a module/plug-in for use with our own EcomMerchant payment gateway. Will we need access to the code once developed so that we can approve it for use with our PCI Level 1 gateway.

Once approved, we will add the link to the module on our Shopping Cart page. We will then be able to offer our referral scheme to any Magento developers who recommend EcomMerchant - as a payment gateway - to their clients.

If anyone is interested, please PM your email address and I will send you our interface spec for a quote.

Thanks,

Simon
