Want to talk to a company with a large email list

Hello,

I am looking to evolve an existing product I have into a new application for use in email marketing.

I am looking to speak to a company that sends regular email newsletters to medium/ large audiences (say >5,00 subscribers per send?) You must have a high quality newsletter and have the need to personalise it to segments or individuals to some degree.

Essentially I will offer a lifetime free license on the application I am looking to build in exchange for some of their time to assist with feedback on the product, and becoming a reference customer.

Please let me know if this is of interest to you.

Thanks

Hi Salt & Pepper,

I know lots of companies with large mailing lists for their email newsletters - some as many as 500,000 email addresses.

Your post is quite vague though so it's difficult to respond. Are you aiming to promote your product on their newsletter? Are you aiming to help them "spice up" their newsletter? Will any newsletter do or does it have to be to a particular target audience?

Hi MokaBox,

It is a product to add a level of personalisation to newsletters - well it's more than that, but I would be looking to discuss with interested parties.

No target audience required, there are a few things around suitability of the given list, but this has to be weeded out on an individual level really.

Cheers

Please take my frankness in the right spirit, I don't wish to appear rude.

I think you will find it difficult to entice interested parties without being more specific about how you personalize the newsletters. Do you have a system that adds the individual's name at the top? Is each email newsletter automatically customised according to the requirements of the recipient? What are you offering?

I have noticed this approach a few times on this forum, posters can be extremely vague about their product or service - presumably out of concern that their idea may be copied by others. Sure, there is a time to keep your cards close to your chest, but when you want cooperation and assistance from others then you need to open up a little.

I would happily ask some of my clients with large mailing lists if they would be interested in contacting you, but I can't approach them with so little information. My company too may be interested in doing some co-marketing with you if we knew enough to evaluate the opportunity. We have developed a video email newsletter system that allows our clients to convert their newsletter to video format and send it out as an email (not just a link, you see the video thumbnail in the email itself). Email Newsletters are our bread and butter, so we may have some interesting synergies...I just can't tell when your product is so shrouded in secrecy.

No that is absolutely fair and reasonable.

There is no secret, and to be frank, someone can 'steal' this idea if they want... because like most ideas, it's the execution that counts. Also the below is a summary, but it is feature and function based, rather than a value proposition, as I am not going to go into a full pitch here, but I have experience of working on digital marketing with massive publishing organisations, so can certainly back up why this works.

Essentially it is not about personalizing email text content - heck Mailchimp can do that, why would I want to compete with them?

This is about driving relevant and personalised information at people though web and email using live images hosted on our platform. The value to the client is potentially massive. Let's take the example of a clothing retailer:

Imagine pushing a newsletter out that contains content which:

  • Changes according to stock levels at time of email open
  • Changes according to the current weather in the subscriber's location at time of open
  • Changes and content optimization according to LIVE A/B test results (Not pre- sent in an A-B-R model like other email tools do). If content A is winning currently, content A is displayed. Later on, if content B is actually now winning, content B is displayed (All at the time of email open).
  • Changes according to the content of an RSS feed, twitter handle, or current data at the time of email open.
  • Changes according to the latest actions performed on a website at time of email open.

(Note all of the above can be set to be totally dynamic, or 'frozen' at the time of first open).

Does that sound more interesting?

Cheers
