Hi,

I am looking into using VT software for bookkeeping and final accounts.

Just wondered who out there has used this software and what they thought about the software?

Is it worhth the money? Is it user friendly? Does it provide everything you need?

Thanks all

Lou

I have been using VT for 7 years now for the accounts of my 3 businesses.

I used the standard package up until a few months ago with no problems and then paid for the upgrade to VT Transaction + , which once you get used to the many improved features it makes your life even easier.

10 out of 10 for value for money and simple to use.

I would recommend any busy small business owner to use this package for
their accounts, as business life is hard enough without further
complications..

Hi,

For the price and ease of use VT+ is a sound investment. Although there are no Fixed Asset or Stock modules it's still sufficient for most small businesses.

As regards VT Final Accounts, LLP's are not supported but you can find a free template if you search for it!

All in all, recommended!

Regards,
Gary

We use VT final accounts.

It's not particularly sophisticated, which has pros and cons. On the plus side, this means it's really easy to change things (it's basically an Excel document) so there's much less hunting through a million menus of options to find what you need to do. On the down side, it isn't as hot as some at spotting errors. You'll also need to use another piece of software to do your tax returns, and manually enter the tax charge on VT.

It's amazing value, and if you're predominantly doing fairly simple sets of accounts it's perfect. If you've got a smaller number of more complex clients, it may not be the best thing for you.

Is it user friendly?

If you find Excel friendly, then yes. If you are not a numbers person and prefer graphics/charts to display your accounts, then look at one of the online accounting solutions. I use FreeAgent to generate my invoices, bookkeeping, VAT, final accounts. No up front costs, monthly subscription which can be reduced by recommending new users.
