Hi

I am after some advice about voip systems. I currently have a standard telephone system which is coming to end of life. its been mackled and bodged for the last few years so theres wires/cable all over and i havent got a clue where they go and what they do as they were installed before i came along.

I am now thinking of going to voip as i am hoping it is more efficient and tidy as well as hoping better value.

I am after a system that i can connect up to 10 phones some of which may be cordless and i currently have three different numbers coming in that i want to keep.

I would like something that I can manage myself to sort internal extensions etc and will also need the voip phones/software/hardware at a reasonable cost.

Please can you advise something/somewhere that may be suitable

Thanks

There are a lot of possibilities, but there are two fundamentals that should be addressed first:

How good is your internet connection? ADSL/Cable/Leased line? This is vital as all calls will go through your internet connection. How many simultaneous calls are there likely to be?

How good is your ethernet network wiring? Are there spare ports into which IP telephones can be plugged?

would like a completely separate system for the voip.

Why???? What do you think Vlans and Qos are for. On a very bad day 5 users is 0.5mbps all in. Data volume wise thats nothing.

Spend some money on a decent Draytek router with a 4g sim failover and get somebody to setup vlans and qos on it.

VOIP phones Yealink all the way.

Another problem you gonna have is if you want to port your existing landline over to VOIP.
99% your landline is tied to your broadband which means your broadband needs a new phone number so you can port your existing number out.

Save yourself the hassle and speak with an IT company who does that for living to save you some problems

We use these for all our own and client VOIP solutions: https://www.circleloop.com/, has always been a very reliable service, good price wise and can be a hardware, software, or mixture of the two based solution, depending on how you need to setup.
