Seeing blog spam for Vision Express promoting "eye test" coming through on some sites.

Anyone else seeing this?

Sincerely hope Vision Express are not involved with this - hate blog spam.

I wonder how many UK companies are now damaging their reputation by employing third party link spamming services?

Loads and the reason is people think link building is just about getting as many links as possible when that's really not the case........

It is the case. You only have to view the link profile of big brand names to know it works.

when I first started out I tried to drop a few links into blogs but then read on here it was pointless and left it. After starting blogging this month I really felt bad for doing it as the pointless spam I've had is relentless, currently 3 valid comments and 82 spam ones that just get binned why do they even bother?

It is the case. You only have to view the link profile of big brand names to know it works.

Masses of links, yes but that 'mass of links' is generated not only by deliberate linking campaigns - or indeed blog spamming - but by fans of the brand linking to them for free. The bigger the brand you are, the more links you will have as a matter of course.

Well they are P2 at the moment, lets see in a month if they get to P1 or drop to P2, then we'll all know whether blog spamming works or not.
