Visa advice

I'm looking to visit America seeking hosts for a company I'm doing some work with. I'm not looking to take any money off anyone - hosts can sign up free and will never pay anything. They only potentially earn.

I believe I just need an ESTA (although that lasts only 90 days). Do I need anything more?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Are you going to stay for more than 90 days? If so, you'll need a visa (though I'm not sure that would help to be honest). Could be easier/cheaper to leave and come back.

If you're not employed there, then an ESTA is fine. I go once or twice per year for meetings, sometimes sales meetings other times just technical meetings, but if you're not seeking employment then an ESTA is fine.

Thanks, Mike. I'm not planning on staying for that long at one time but there's a good chance I might need more than 90 days in the 2 year period allowed. I can always look at that later, I guess, once I've got a better idea.

Someone told me I wouldn't be able to sell or sign anyone up on an ESTA. Do you see any issue? The US and UK gov websites don't suggest there should be a problem but I wanted to check with someone who'd been.

Also, presumably I'd need to specify where I want to visit when applying for an ESTA? Or can that be open/flexible?
