Virtual Terminal or Direct Debit?

I run a office fruit delivery service. At the moment employers pay for the fruit boxes on invoice using cheque or BACS. I'm considering selling fruit and veg straight to employees in take home boxes. I was wondering whether setting up a direct debit or a setting up a virtual terminal would be best to accept payment from the employees?
