Viewing last 50 active topics

The 'View posts since last visit' is undoubtedly useful. The problem for me is that if I log on quickly in the morning before leaving for work to check for messages or have a quick look and then check again when I get to the office I am then only shown posts since I logged on this morning (Since that was my last visit)

If you look at http://info-x.co.uk, once you are logged in there is a 'View last 20 active topics' link which shows you the last 20 topics that have been posted to.

Does anyone else think this'd be useful here? Although I think it should be perhaps last 40 or 50 active topics. This only requires a relatively minor change to the code of the forum ( 2 files - search.php and the file containg the left hand menu) I have the code here for it and I'd happily hand it over or even implement it myself.

I have the same problem, as I sometimes do not get a chance to read all the posts before I have to go off and do something else, however, I tend to stay logged in on those occasions, so I don't lose the previous posts and then just hit the view posts since lasst visit link again and it updates the list.

I have been late for work b4 because ive made sure I read them all as there may be one im interested in that will go away if I log off and back on again.
