Every now and then when visiting my own sites I haven't looked at recently I get a "verifying you are not a robot" message before the site loads.

After doing a bit of searching it appears my host may have Litespeed reCaptcha set at a global level

This appears to be a setting only my host has control mover, should they set this by default, can it cause problems, how do I know what exactly they are blocking or whitelisting.

Could they be blocking access to my sites from people that I don't want blocking, or could it cause any other problems?

Is it common practice that hosts to this?

    IT CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS.

    API requests get error codes.

Customers get way longer load times.

Your provider is a moron. If you want robot verification, do it on the Edge with Cloudflare etc.

    im tellin you

Is there a way of knowing if my host has the reCaptcha on at global level and finding out if this is happening to all of my sites

Like I said in OP, I only notice it doing this very rarely and only on sites I haven't visited for a while.

I have no idea how often (if at all) it does it for other visitors

I guess it ties in with this thread really

Hosts are now in a tricky situation where if they allow everything through the sites can grind to a halt.

Unless you're running your own servers, is it just a case of leaving everything to the hosts and relying on the fact they don't have their settings set too strict?
