About 5 years ago I was offered a 10% share in a well established business which I had been working for about 20 years. This offer was verbal and was made to persuade me to stay at the company as I had an offer from another company. The other company has since grown to a very sucssessful company and I have never received the 10% shares in the company I am still working for. I asked for these shares to get sorted a number of times but it still never got sorted. The boss tried to fobb me off, saying it would cost me a fortune in tax. Due to this being a verbal aggreement and the fact that I have nothing in writing can this be seen as a verbal contract.
