Vehicle Breakdown Recovery Start Up

Hi all

i have recently decided to start up a business covering many services of motor trade mainly because this is the trade my family has been involved in for a long time so its what i know. Im gonna be starting with vehicle recovery as i already have a small amount of customers but my long term goal is to work with the insurance companies, Finance companies & the Police. Does anybody have any ideas how to go about getting your foot in the door as they say with said companies and the police?. Also how is best to approach garages & dealers for new business? Cold Calling , Leaflets/letters or actually going out face to face?.

If i was you, I would get on some car forums. Spread the word and do special offers for members. FREE advertising : )

Go to the dealerships and talk with the general managers or the service guys. I know some garages don't have two service but always have one to recommend. Maybe give them an incentive to call you over the other person.
