Hello guys i am new on this forum and need a little help with a question. I am registered as self employed however not VAT registered. I am slowly approaching the VAT threshold of £85,000 limit a year and was wondering do i need to be VAT registered if i do not sell any goods in the UK or EU? All of my sales from my online shop are to the US. I have an appointment with a qualified accountant to discuss this, but thought to ask for you guys input on this.

Thanks
David.

Hi David,

In a previous business i was advised that it was only revenue on VAT-able sales, so your US sales shouldn't count.

All the best

This also was what i have been advised by the accountant i have been in contact with. Thank you for taking your time to reply my question. Much appreciated.
