Vaccine anyone?

Not for me I am afraid and that includes a huge percent of the population, it is most certainly a rushed thing.

For some reason I am getting a text every week saying I am eligible, more than sure there is a scam going off regarding the vaccine probably some shady group taking payments for it!

I mean, what dummy is happy to be a human lab rat for the latest injection that's had no real world long term experience, only a fool in my personal view.

It's even funnier that the seasonal flu has just vanished, oh what.

Lol, it's all one big interesting situation, but hey don't shoot the messenger. Let me guess, all them sanitisers and really good masks have killed the flu.

Now everyone line up, line up, get your jabs people!

Call me crazy, call me one of those theorists, but we didn't believe a covid passport was coming and it has already started in different countrys, we didn't believe cashless was happening, but it has and now we are injecting millions with vaccines not tested for long term side effects and country's banning certain vaccines already from deaths.

So I assume you weren't talking about UK then?

I thought we were at 90 per cent plus take up of the vaccine in the groups offered it so far?

Don't tell me you are another drama queen?

Yes - some media have reported people being done for offering vaccine to people jumping the queue. Whether vaccine or saline is open to question....

Rather than inject people we can always wait for long term testing. Going in and out of lockdowns, killing tens of thousands of people a year, stopping the NHS doing routine work for a few years, blocking tourists from coming to the UK etc.
For years.

What is the cost of the vaccine compared to the cost of not having the vaccine? That is what it comes down to.

Now personally I'm not a fan of lockdowns. I'd rather this one be the last one - however I am a fan of having medical facilities open and being able to use them.
We have zero chance of controlling the virus without vaccine, the British people are too stupid. We have a chance of dealing with the virus using vaccines.

You cannot get Covid from the vaccine.

You can however get side effects - including fever and fatigue. My dad was ill for a couple of days, my mum not affected at all.

Just had my jab this morning, production line style (line on the left, one cross each....), they did several people a minute using a council sports site.
Unfortunately I'll not notice the side effects. My wife might so I'm keeping an eye on her.

I feel like everyone else is getting the vaccine around me, and I'm so keen to get it as for me it's a milestone on the road to the countries recovery. Anyone can get a reaction from the flu jab and I don't see this as any different.
My wife had hers a few weeks ago (she's a registered carer for our son so was one of the early runs), and apart from feeling a bit tired the day after she was fine. Two of my co-directors have had theirs with no side effects as have a couple of my team with no side effects.

Anecdotally, you are more likely to get side effects if you've already had Covid. Similarly, there appears to be more reaction to the second jab than the first

For balance, every single form of drug comes with the risk of side effects - that includes the ones we buy over the counter and those we routinely ingest through choice

I was injected with Pfizer on 25th Feb. I had a sore arm if I touched it for a couple of days, but otherwise could not feel anything. My nose was a bit drippy on 26th Feb, but that could have been anything as I do need to blow my nose from time to time.

I am myself unaware of any substantiated reason not to take this particular vaccine. I believe I had Covid in April last year (I was not tested, nor particularly ill)

I do, however, put substantial efforts into ensuring my immune system is fully functional. I am, however, 60 and therefore I fall into the category of people who have a material risk from Covid and when I had it I was obsese (I am not now having lost about 35kg of weight since August).

Interesting that we have new posters who have negative experience of the vaccine, I hope they have some insights to some business stuff too, rather than using this as a platform for anti vaccine stuff.
This vaccine is a step all members of society should embrace, it isnt as effective if people opt out, what is it they say United we stand devided we fall.

Also they look a bit young, of course younger people can have much older friends, but I think it would make a more emotive post if it was a dear grandma or grandad.

Thanks for your positive comment. I am not sure I feel that much better as I was not particularly unhealthy anyway although I have put a lot of effort into researching dietary supplements and their effects particularly when it comes to improving sleep.

Although it is a relatively rapid reduction from around 21 stone to around 14 stone over a period of 8 months I have not suddenly noticed any difference other than having to cut additional holes in my belt.

As I said I had what I had in April last year when I was around 21 stone (I am not sure about the precise weight as I bought a weighing machine in August and otherwise had not weighed myself for some time. ).

Is that around 40kg you've lost?

Try carrying around 40kg and see how you get on... that's the strain you've taken off your heart and joints.
According to my phone 37.85. I was carrying around something which weighed about 50kg recently (a working at height telescopic platform). I think my muscles have probably reduced in power a bit, but my target is about 4-5 more kg to be precisely 2/3 of the originally registered weight (which was not the peak, but the peak when I had a weighing machine).

Do you think your own journey was more necessary than theirs?

When did I say my journey was more necessary than there's ? We were attending a funeral so the government officially thinks it is, but I think there is a breakdown in communication anyway. I am not in favour of these draconian suppression measures, particularly now the vast majority of those at significant risk from Covid have been vaccinated.

And yet those very same groups are still being a significant chunk of hospital admissions with covid..

Perhaps they are not reading this thread?

Now if we can get the people who are not isolating, who are not shielding, who will likely not be going out too much to have the vaccine then things will be sorted.
Except the people who may end up in hospital, dead, or disabled for a time.

It is always about how much you eat and/or drink. I have been looking carefully at how to improve my health (today is my 61st Birthday and I started the day at 89.95kg - my objective is now 85.85kg - on the basis that it is 2/3 of my original measurement). I aim to eat less, but I also avoid carbs and eat quite a few legumes although I start the day with beans on toast. I also drink a lot less than I used to much that I am making my way through a bottle of Rioja at the moment. I don't really exercise although I walk quite a bit and at times during the warmer weather I may cycle around. However, it am doing a lot of experiments with dietary supplements - mainly concentrating on increasing sleep.

Its about what you eat and drink too.

Drink nothing but pop, eat nothing but crisps, jam sandwiches and pizza - you probably won't be as slim or healthy as when eating a better diet. :)

Increasing sleep - can also work with changing the bedroom environment. Mattress, pillows, quilt, heat, ventilation, light, night time routine etc.
Lots of factors, diet is an important one of course but not the only element.

Well however you've done it is commendable, just make sure you keep it up !

I like beans of toast anyway, particularly with loads of cheese though !

“The head of Italy’s medicine regulator AIFA, admitted today that politicians had come under pressure to suspend AstraZeneca vaccines after Germany and France made similar moves.

‘We got to the point of a suspension because several European countries, including Germany and France, preferred to interrupt vaccinations. The choice is a political one’, Magrini said in an interview with La Repubblica.

Twelve EU countries have now suspended the use of the vaccine altogether – while other have blacklisted specific batches.

Meanwhile, health experts in Germany and France have accused their governments of playing politics with the AstraZeneca vaccine, which previously faced criticism after being unable to fulfil orders in Europe.”

Always about the politics and money, rather than the people, thankfully we are out of the awful EU. The EU, happy to play with their citizens lives, where most countries infection rates are rising significantly compared to the UK.

After a bad start this Gov seems to have got more of a grip on the pandemic, the opposite seems true from the EU.

    Movie: I am Legend
    Set in Year: 2021

The entire world population becomes zombies after getting vaccinated.

    Nostradamus predicted it too ;)

Do you ever wonder if Nostradamus was just an early spammer?

Made 300 predictions a day, then got big applause when one happened to be right?
