using a company name

hi all, i had to wind up my company last year, and as a result came out of the property i was in. I have just been told that someone has gone into the unit using the name i had ?? ...
can they do this or was i silly to leave the shop name and sign up ?
btw, companies house has not yet dissolved the company on there list.

Have they just left the signs up or is their company using the same name and yours? If they've left the signs up I guess it's a case of " what you gonna do about it?"

thx for the replies ..... not sure if they are trading as the old name..sign definitely still up.
Slight problem i have is, i started a new company only 7 miles away and still have a lot of old customer base, i just hope they don't think i have anything to do with it, as they sell inferior products than me...
