Using a car as a van - Special rate capital allowance?

I'm a sole trader. I bought a Vauxhall Combo Life XL to use as a car/van, since I can't really afford to run both a car and a van and there's not enough parking space where I live anyway. It's a perfect solution. I've ply-lined the back so it doesn't get ruined carrying tools and materials and the front stays clean for taking the family out. I've built the ply-lining so I can easily remove it for family days out. Plus I have a decent, reliable motor to go to work in.

So can I claim capital allowance at special rate 6%?
If it was a van, I think I could claim more, but there were just too many reasons not to do that. Appreciate any advice.
Cheers

Ah so you mean claim the % of the allowance that I use the car for business? Like I do with it's running costs? I claim the running expenses at 70%, which is maybe a bit too conservative, since I work average 6 days/week, but anyway at least I can sleep knowing I'm comfortably the right side of it.

So I do the current value x0.06, then take that value and x0.7?

You calculate the amount of capital allowances and you claim the percentage which is solely for business use.

So if for example the capital allowance was £1,000 and 70% of the cars mileage is solely business use you claim £700.
