Ask any member if I have been in contact with them since the banning? The answer will be no unless they are active on another forum and we interact on the same post. I am not looking to get banned again, I just want to use UKBF for refrence and infomation. Nothing more.

Kevin has just had a 3 month ban. And as ever, the UKBF community will take no time in reporting any unacceptable activity, as I'm sure Kevin is aware.

IMO, if a member is allowed back after serving a ban the LAST THING they should be allowed to do is change their blimmin user name.

It is EXTREMELY unfair on the rest of us.

Please rethink this as a matter of urgency.

I have no problem with bans being lifted - I have a massive problem with not knowing due to a name change.

I got banned about 3 months ago becuase I acted like a child and emailed and hassled loads of members.

I am now un-banned and some members won't accept that I have changed.

Looked at the end of the day I put my hands up and admit I wasted people's time and resources. I got banned for that, now I am trying to just get on with people and come on the forum without any hassle.

Generally, only if they check the USP and then recall that it matches of each new person and that often does not happen on forums (not enough time on a popular one!).

If they banned on user name, he could have re-registered 5 mins after the ban - if they banned the USP addy, he would have had to wait (unless he used a proxy server), but again, could have re-registered under a different name when he was 'unbanned'!

I've had a quick look, but he was a serial, serial poster...from what I have read though he mentions

finding a cage for his hamster
getting his hamster
hosting 15 websites
and his profile, his love for paintballing.

if it was regarding members contacting him with their services, surely there were some clues in his history or have I missed something?!

I completley agree that after a 3 month ban he should be allowed to use the forums again but why want to change the name? If you only use it for reference then why does it make any difference. You should never be allowed to change your username!!!!
