My LTD co took on an office lease in 2016.

The office qualifies for full business rates relief, so there has been nothing to pay business rates wise, so it was never really brought to our attention that business rates account for the office was set up in the previous tenants name.

In 2019 we received a letter "request for rent, lease, or ownership details" from the valuation office, which we responded to by providing the requested information.

The problem is that the lease has still not been updated into my LTD co's name despite the information being submitted in 2019.

I want to apply for the covid grant for the premasis, but aftering speaking to the grant team they cant issue it unless the business rates record relates to my LTD co.

Ive googled but cant find the place where i can re-update / contact the valuation office to inform them that my LTD co is the legal tenant of the premiss.

In the meantime im concerned that the grant scheme could expire and i wont get the money.

It's just your local council business rates dept. They're who you should have got in touch with when you moved in (much like contacting the council when you move into a new house for council tax update).

In the case of our building and council (Norwich City), the landlord sent the council correct details of all the tenants at the beginning of the outbreak and the council actually sent out a pack including the forms for applying for the Small Business Rate Relief together with the forms for the grant.

Then there are examples of other councils being complete £&£^ and telling folk the door is shut if they weren't on the register in March.
