Hi Everyone,
I really hope someone on here can give me some advice. I did start another thread but no luck on that one ... so sorry but I'm in a real messy situation.
If you've read my other post you will see I went out of business due to a foul water flood. Due to the fact that I've put all my money back into the business over the last 6 months to keep the business open, thinking the insurance people would start the rectification work and didn't I now owe HMRC about 5k in PAYE.
I have now gone out of business and have just about enough money to pay my staff their final salaries. I'm trying to sell my assets to pay money I owe but I changed from a Sole Trader to a Ltd company last year October and my accountant let me down so didn't transfer my sole trader assets or liabilities into my Ltd company.
Do I still have to pay HMRC even though I have no money? I did phone a company who deals with insolvancy, he said to just tell them I can't pay, is that correct? Can they take my house?
I hope someone can advise me
