Hey everyone,
Hope this is the right forum to post in, if not, please let me know.
I was handed a notice of redundancy today. Part of the notice was a contract that says what I will get in my redundancy package. I think as I received my notice today, today is my notice date. My contract says I have a one month notice period.
I am taking pay in lieu of notice, so I will receive my full notice pay, however I will cease to be an employee as of the 30th June.
I earn £39,000 a year and my pay in lieu of notice is being given to me at £3,100.
Where has this figure come from?
Because it's slightly less than the full month of July's pay (as that should be £39k / 12 = £3,250), but it's more than just 26 days of July that I assume my notice period is covering.
Does anyone know how this is being calculated? I would just like to ask someone on the outside before I ask my company incase there is a mistake and so I am better prepared for it.
