UKBF Pecking Order

So what's with the titles ?

I've noticed UKBF members can be Legends, or Enthusiasts, or Regulars, or Contributors or even the God-like 'Big Shot'.

Who decides this status and what does it mean?

I ask as a humble 'Full Member' only - the Lance-Corporal of UKBF. Not quite down in steerage with the 'Members' but close enough.

It's not that I aspire to high rank - just want to know who I can abuse without fear of retribution.

Isn't it just down to post count?
I thought that, but I have about 12,000 more posts than you and we are both Legends. I think it is done by very careful analysis of the value, credibility and clarity of each individual post, with negative marking for those that may break forum rules and additional points when the forum receives unwarranted praise from the poster.

Either that or it is a hangover from bygone times that hasn't been updated for aeons.

So what's with the titles ?
At the moment, it is exactly as @AllUpHere and @Newchodge say - it is nothing more than post count.
Either that or it is a hangover from bygone times that hasn't been updated for aeons.
However, I tried removing them and broke something so there are some still lingering around and hasn't been fixed as I'm desperately trying to get the new updated platform launched - but keep getting hit by obstacle by obstacle. I now see why Sift never did it.
And do the points mean you get prizes
Not currently, but the new way after the platform upgrade will have digital prizes for those who provide the most valuable/correct answer to questions asked.
But "Recent Posts" and "New Posts" buttons also confuse me, apparently providing similar but not always identical lists.
Yeah, this is also an issue on the new upgraded platform I'm trying to find a solution for...
