UKBF makeover!

Don't like the thanks button bad idea.I keep clicking on mine and nothing happens.:|

Don't like the idea at all ,sounds to much like politics , more votes e.t.c,and maybe people will start to assess a member on the amount of thanks votes they get allied to the fact that some good advice is not always popular with the recipient.

Plus all the nice people will get all the votes and miserable old gits like me will get none.

now have a nice day now and don.t forget to thank me or I'll never get me Saint Hood

Ray what large buttons :|

I agree with you, Earl. Constructive criticism is probably the most valuable thing anyone can receive at these forums, but hearing echoes of our own words is more likely to lead to a 'thank you' vote.

The redesign is good - having a 100% width is nice (especially for us on the high resolutions). The header navigation looks like it could do some work; the left and right edges aren't finished properly and simply stop! Unlike others though i like the 'thanks' ideas - it will allow members with not so much knowledge to identify a valuable comment.

Dan - great makeover, I'm glad you decided to keep things simple and now add dozens of useless new features. I like the larger buttons - it encourages one to click on them and to get involved in the thread. The only thing that I don't like (very minor) is the bright red highlight on the Forum Jump option at the bottom of each thread!

Yep, got my vote too. Nice and simple - even I don't need instructions (and haven't even asked Carl for any help!).

Not sure about the thanks button.... I can see we might have some fun with them after a few glasses of wine :)

(yes, I'm still here, been ill, I go on Sunday :))

Can we have profile urls (in the username drop-down) turned back to open in new window???

Hi there,

Yep, we'll look into this ... however the target="_blank" tag is being deprecated, so some browsers will ignore it anyway.

I think this is to do with accessibility standards, where opening new browser windows is somewhat frowned upon (as it breaks the browser's ability to go back in their history).

Will see what we can do though! :)

Cheers for now,
Darren
