Firstly, thank you for your help so far. Have been checking out all the suggestions.

In response to Simon, we have a service that is used by companies located in the UK and elsewhere in the world.

When UK and EU companies search, would they not use a se located in their own jurisdiction?

We are optimizing for google; it's tremendously tedious and takes months.

Google kw are horribly expensive, even for the most obscure searches. Even targeting only particular countries, google charges the same outrageous prices as if the audience was world-wide.

That's how come we are seeking better alternatives.

Try using a product like Web CEO for your seach engine submission, it list's lots of search engines in each country and submits to them for you. It's FREE as well which is always nice...

I have to admit it takes a while to learn it and I'm still starting out using it but it looks like it's one of the best out there. One useful feature is the Search for partners section, as having good links to your website will improve your page ranking...
