UK PAYG Payment Processors?

I've just started my own business and right now am using paypal. However as I am slowly wanting to expand . We launched in december and business has been very slow so i dont think i want to commit to £19.99 a month or whatever unless I really have to as am saving up about £2000 for seo work on google/bing and then another £5000 for industry licencing.

I read a post on here a while ago about there being pay as you go payment preccessors..whos the best?

What kind of payments are you looking to process? Card payments? Online/offline?

For example Stripe will process online payments without any kind of monthly commitment.

Hi I was looking for online and telephone to be honest. All i've managed to find so far as I searched the forums is about stripe, nochex, worldpay and sagepay. Worldpay and sagepay seem expensive if you've not got any market or regular income to be honest. And nochex and stripe i've read horror stories about. I've ended up signing up with BrainTree so far, so online i will offer BrainTree and PayPal..but i'm still ideally looking for a payment merchant on a pay as you go basis via telephone incase we did get any orders...

well my braintree account got shut down aparently they dont support travel agents...damn! im back to square one now

In that case you may have some trouble using any of the mainstream payment processors because, as I understand it, these prohibited activities tend to be set by the actual networks such as Visa and MasterCard (I could be wrong though). For example Stripe lists "travel reservation services and clubs; airlines; cruises;" as a prohibited high risk business.

I see Mike that sucks man..I dont understand why braintree have a issue when i have paypal? rang paypal when i set the account up too and they were fine with me being a travel company too so it seems bizarre

Well the TTA who are a travel association, they recommend using worldpay so guess they allow it..
