UK Blood Lab Regs and Criteria

Hi

I'm considering setting up a very small lab in order to test blood work sent via post for issues such as allergies.

I'm looking for guidance on regulations and what I would need to make this all above board.

Any help or places to start would be welcome.

Just be warned, not all allergies can be picked up on the blood work.
Until the person has the allergy trigger.

Do you need to setup your own lab? As in, is the lab itself your business model (selling lab services) or will your business primarily be the giving results to people? So people pay for a kit and you give results.

There are two main companies in the UK that pretty much do this for all the UK websites for allergy testing via blood samples etc, so you'd likely be better off going to those labs to process the orders; if your business model will be giving results to people.

Can't remember their names off the top of my head but if you order an allergy test from any of the UK websites that offer this service and check the address they ask you to send the sample back to, you can easily tell who the lab operator is.
