UK Based VPS

I'm looking to get a UK based VPS. Can anybody recommend a good linux based VPS host?

It needs not be very powerful(512MB of RAM and a few GB of disk space are enough), but it should have good connectivity to the internet, excellent uptime(as close to 100% as possible) and decent bandwidth (at least 1TB/month).

Any suggestions would be great.

I think they're a bit more than we need. I forgot to mention I'm looking for a unmanaged KVM or Xen solution. Indeed their offer looks great.

Actually we have a KVM hosting infrastructure which we use for hosting FreePBX VPS systems. Unfortunately we don't really provide general Linux VPS hosting.

1TB/month is an amount of _transfer_ not of bandwidth

How much throughput are you *realistically* going to do - taking an average across them all I see the VPS doing ~68GB/month of transfer, with only a handful doing more than 250GB/month of transfer

I've used www.cheapvps.co.uk in the past who are very good and live up to the brand name 'cheap' (yet cheerful).

They offer OpenVZ, Xen, KVM, SSD-based and Windows VPS.

@astutiumRob - it is indeed the amount of data transfered, but it's usually refered to as bandwidth.

We currently only use 12-24GB of data transfer on any one of our servers, but it's going to work as a proxy server to our in house datacenter so it might use more.

Also many thanks for all the suggestions. I'll check them out and see which best suits our needs.

I know it's not UK based but this looks like a really good deal for a VPS development system: https://digitalocean.com/pricing/. US based from $5.00 per month. They will even provide systems by the hour!

digitalocean is indeed great. We already have a VPS with them in their Amsterdam datacenter and it's working great. We get at least 99.6% uptime (measured externally). It's almost the best I've ever seen, and it's certainly the best for the money.

Yes. Our UK facility is Tier 3.5 (only 1 substation) meaning it can't be truthfully called Tier 4. Our Phoenix, US facility is Tier 4 and our Atlanta, US facility is Tier 3.

Which of the RapidSwitch facilities is Tier 4? All are about 2 to my knowledge.
