Twitter and Facebook for Website

Hi

A website which I have launched which is fairly new is aimed to be a one-stop-shop for families where there is going to be everything from baby gifts to buggies! The only problem is attracting customers to the site. I haven't had any sales and have recently had some problems with the cart but everything should be working fine now I just wondered whether having Twitter and Facebook on the website would help attract more attention to it or should I not bother? If it is something which I could do how can I do it?

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

Me personally I would advertise on Facebook, perfect setting for your type of business. Just think how many people use facebook. I think you need to open a facebook account first. Im sure if you scroll down to the bottom on your home page on facebook, there is a link for advertsing.

Good luck with your business venture!!!

These channels are great but they need either time or money. Like any marketing what are your objectives from it and what is your strategy?

Many people just start a Twitter account, write a few tweets and wonder why they get no business. You need to have a strategy in place about what you stand for, what you will tweet about and how you will obtain followers.

Likewise the same is true for Facebook groups and pages. Advertising on Facebook is effective as you can target by demographic but do you have a budget for this?

Like someone else has mentioned the Mumsnet type sites is a great audiencel. Search engines are still probably your best route - SEO and PPC.

HI rachel, i would say that you must include Social Media in your marketing strategy, there cant be any other way to get free traffic on your website, obviously you have to invest a bit of time in it but its worth it
