Hello

And so with my new ecommerce site in development I was thinking of adding Trustpilot (seems very expensive) to it to give buyers confidence.

I have trialled it and liked the way it works and the way I can place the reviews onto my social media but is Trustpilot the only way to go?

To be honest I am tired of the pushy sales from Trustpilot and the 1 off special deals that have come around twice so far.

What do you ecommerce guys use? anything? do you find it's worth having. Im thinking yes but thought I would ask.

Thanks

They are very expensive. We worked out that over a year it cost us over £8 per review, but it gets worse. Stop paying them and stop actively seeking reviews and you are left with an account that they won't close, and because of human nature your account turns into a complaints platform. Very few people will go to the trouble of signing up to TP just to leave a good review. Those with an axe to grind certainly will.

There's only one choice for me after going around the houses..eTrusted... Completely free, works with google to display in shopping results, just takes a bit of manual work to save email/first name/last name in an excel sheet and upload every couple of day's..

If you're still in the market for a great alternative, you should look at TrustSpot.

TrustSpot is the best alternative. You get automatic review collection, SEO boosting public profile page (gold stars in Google), plus the conversion boosting on-site widgets and badges. There's a free tier with the base features, and the paid plans are far more affordable than anyone else (no annual contracts).

Main features:

  • Import existing reviews
  • Bulk invite past customers to leave a new review
  • 100% transaction reviews, meaning only paying customers can leave one. No anonymous reviews, no fakes.
  • Automated review collection for any cart system. There's direct plugins for Shopify, Woocommerce, Magento, plus BCC based integration
  • SEO boosting profile page. When someone searches "Your Company Reviews" the profile will rank highly with gold stars
  • On-site widgets, badges, carousels, and tabs too boost conversions. These are proven to increase general sales time and time again
  • 1-click sharing of reviews to social media
  • Automated review display on your business Facebook page
  • Respond to reviews publicly, report explicit reviews
  • Discover "champions" of your brand with a recommendation score promotion system. Find promoters, detractors, and neutral customers.

How far will you get with a free trustpilot account? It says 100 review request a month. How many customers out of a 100 will normally write a review?

Hi,

With TrustSpot we normally see an average of 26% Review Rate with our current email template, but we suspect this number to go up higher once we release our new design next month.

With TrustSpot you get 30 monthly review requests + 50 kickstart credits, so 80 total requests.

If you need a few more just let me know and I'll do a special request and add the additional credits to your account :)

Thanks,
Ryan
