Hello

And so with my new ecommerce site in development I was thinking of adding Trustpilot (seems very expensive) to it to give buyers confidence.

I have trialled it and liked the way it works and the way I can place the reviews onto my social media but is Trustpilot the only way to go?

To be honest I am tired of the pushy sales from Trustpilot and the 1 off special deals that have come around twice so far.

What do you ecommerce guys use? anything? do you find it's worth having. Im thinking yes but thought I would ask.

If you're prepared to do it, then make a video with members of the business talking about the business and showcasing the products. This will give site visitors something to judge you by, and if done well, will instill confidence in buying from you.

Reviews.co.uk are great! Much cheaper and you get all the features you would need starting out.

They are very expensive. We worked out that over a year it cost us over £8 per review, but it gets worse. Stop paying them and stop actively seeking reviews and you are left with an account that they won't close, and because of human nature your account turns into a complaints platform. Very few people will go to the trouble of signing up to TP just to leave a good review. Those with an axe to grind certainly will.

Trustpilot have been fantastic for us - works out about £50 a month but brings in way more than that in orders from people who have found us through the site.

Looks interesting but puts me off when they hide the prices and ask you to call... Is it sales sales sales.. Havent got time for that. Can you tell me how much you pay?

There's only one choice for me after going around the houses..eTrusted... Completely free, works with google to display in shopping results, just takes a bit of manual work to save email/first name/last name in an excel sheet and upload every couple of day's..

We use sellerdeck software and they have a agreemen with feefo so we get better prices rather than direct

Big thing is you rating is shown as stars in google adwords after you get somany good reviews which must infulence buyers

With TrustSpot we normally see an average of 26% Review Rate with our current email template, but we suspect this number to go up higher once we release our new design next month.

I lost faith in all "reviews" gadgets years ago. They're all too easy to game.

They were a neat idea a few years ago, in order to get people to trust the internet, but I don't know for sure how much value they actually add to any website.
