I'm looking to reward my customers for their custom by planting a tree for every £100 spent (my service already improves a company's CSR strategy). I have come accross tree planting companies on Google and I was wondering if any had any experience using a tree planting company?

To begin with I will only be looking to purchase individual trees as I can not afford to buy one of the corporate tree planting packages to begin with.

hi

try the forestry commission but there are many other schemes where you can order them 1 at a time

I know my mortgage broker - London & country do this for every refferal I give them, they give u a choice of a m&s voucher or a tree.

I was told I was the first ever to choose a tree - shocking

cheers

What a wonderul idea.

Good Luck with it.:)

When we first moved here, we planted 1000 trees to form a small shelter belt - best thing we ever did.

Wish more people would plant a tree (just make sure they are native to the area you are planting in).

Great for the environment and for wildlife.

Anyone know of any similar schemes up north, specifically the north west if possible? Think this could be a good idea to select particular customers offer them the chance to help plant x amount of trees.

We run 9 vans (hopefully 12 by end of next year) and they normally do 100 mile a day so would be good to help stop the impact we're making.

I know of many in Scotland (far North) but not in the North East.

As a charity, www.heartofenglandforest.com near birmingham could allow your customers the chance to do some planting. They are a charity and planting is much lower cost than with some organisations.

We would be very happy to provide this service for you at www.heartofenglandforest.com - at a very reasonable price (we have our own tree nursery and we are gifted the land we plant on so we are not expensive).
We can guarantee the trees will be looked after (we are a charity and the trees are on our own land) - and given our central location, your customers can come and visit the trees and watch them grow!
Please make contact if you wish to know more.

We only plant native English trees and only broadleaf ones as they reflect the historical tree coverage of England.
We don't plant as densely as a commercial forest - so we don't plant in neat straight rows as we never plan to harvest the trees. We plant as nature would - randomly. We also leave open spaces, which makes the forest much more beautiful, and also increases the diversity of the wildlife in the new woodland.
Out planting mix is usually lots of Oak, some ash, birch, hazel, rowan, maple, cherry, hornbeam and some lower lying shrubs (like holly etc).

LOL, the HeartofEngland should you be your first port of call not second ha ha.
Don't want to knock the Woodland Trust at all (I have planted a substantial amount with them personally many years ago) but I think they are expensive. Given that the Heart of England Forest Project own much of the land they plant on and operate their own tree nursery, their costs are very much lower. Happy to answer questions.

Slighty off topic, I use APC Hand Delivery in St Albans. I gotta say what a fabulous delivery service you guys offer, and I have tried them all.

Back on topic, What a fabulous heart warming idea to plant a tree for referals or client purchase.

Does anyone know if any of the charieties issue cerificates for the tree that is planted. A bit like the buy a star certificates. Even if it costs more it would be nice to send by email the proof of planting so to speak.
