Can anybody here give me some information about the requirement of setting up a travel agent business? Does it need to join ABTA? Or, it can be registered and run as a normal limited company?

I would have thought that was one of the basics, so really if you want to be starting a travel agency shouldn't you carry out the relevant research yourself? Otherwise you might get stuck somewhere down the line.

Bascially it is for a niche market which seems welcomed.

I agree, it may learn something, but I doubt it will be much about business legility and management.
