Hello,

We are setting up our training calendar for the next year. There are 13 dates we have throughout the country.

What should I expect to pay price wise and where would recommend for venues? I am looking for something along the Premier Inn line, or training room where I can bring in catering (lunch, refreshments, etc) I need the room for 4 days for up to 15 people per day.

Any help, direction or recommendations would be appreciated! Also, if you have any stories, let me know....

Kind regards,

-Dave

Hi,

I worked for a venue in Cambridge a couple of years ago as part of the sales team. Most places will want to provide a package known as a "day delegate package". This will, in most cases include, refreshments, room hire and lunch for the day, some place will also include equipment. If you were to go down that route price range from about £30 to £70 per person per day, depending on the venue and the standard of food. I suggest that is the best route to go down 9/10.

Now the important bit. Haggle! Try and go for Monday or Friday, they're the cheapest (least popular) days. Go to independents if possible and when they offer you a rate say "my budget really isn't that big. I was looking at £30 per person", some will play ball some won't. Call around all the venue's in the area, you'll get somewhere nice for cheap.

Good luck!

Eddie

Hello SA,

Thanks for the info...now for the daft question. What is 9/10?

I thought around £25 per was in the ballpark, but I don't want a hideous place as it will reflect on our company. Also, at £70 per...that cuts in profit or makes it a loss.

Cheers,

9/10 = 9 times out of 10. just find a nice place that quotes £50pp and ask them to do it for £30pp, simple. One of them will say yes.
