"Training Link"... Any Good??

I am extremely interested in studying for ICB. I've done some searching of courses and see "Training Link" do what appears to be what I'm looking for. My problem is that I don't see many reviews anywhere. Can anyone tell me how good (or not so good as the case may be) their courses are, as I don't want to part with cash if they are dubious in any way?:| Many thanks for any advice. Kelsti.:)

I wouldnt say that they have mistakes in books as i haven t found any yet. So far so good, tutor reply via email is excellent, sometimes reply next minute. Price is excellent as i am doing Payrol managment i found the course very complete at a great price but you have to put down a lot of your time to stud a lot. Sometimes i feel a bit lost and tutor will tell you where to pick it up again. Been studing with Open university and find them really good with their platform which Training link is more "books study", so therefor you have to read and read till you get it right.

Overall is good and price is 5 stars

I will not recommend training link. I tried their tester course and wasn't very impressed with the task and examples. The materials wasn't good enough to provide additional information and to grasp the basic skills of double entry and capital expenditure.

I know this is an old post, but having recently started studying with TL I thought I'd give a more up-to-date appraisal.
I was very apprehensive when starting out, but when I called up, the bloke I spoke to was very patient and took me through all the options without pushing me for the most expensive. I decided to take the introduction course first, just to see if I could get on with study after so many years away.
Based on previous posts, they've clearly upped their game because I found the Intro course great! Really enjoyed working through it; not too long or over-complicated.
It only cost me £35 and I got this back once I signed up to one of their full courses!
I'm now part way through my level 2 course, and intend on continuing on to level 3 with training link when the time comes.
They also have a Facebook page for their students, which is pretty good as you get to speak to other students who are in the same boat as you. There are also a number of ex students now in practice which is of great benefit, as I'm aiming to be a self-employed bookkeeper myself...eventually!

Couldn't agree more re: fake accounts 'obscure'. Regarding the rest of your sentence...Why would the company in question post negative comments about itself?!!
Fake accounts are counter-productive. I saw a recent comment on Facebook proving that one provider (NOT Training Link) was posting their own feedback on Trust pilot!!
All these negative comments really don't help a company who has clearly done better year after year.
If you look on the ICB site (as I did when I was researching who to go with) it shows that they've won the large training provider for the last 5 years. This PROVES that they're doing a good job, and my experience with them has been nothing short of outstanding.

Hey Mike, welcome to the forum. Maybe your review would carry a little more weight if you told us something about yourself.
No problem at all; being a new member, I suppose anyone could assume my account is spurious :)
I've been a lorry driver for a number of years, but being in my mid 40's now, the long hours (and constant roadworks) are getting too much.
My wife suggested I look into bookkeeping courses as I've always had an affinity with numbers...I think she was just getting fed up with me moaning!
I decided to do a little investigating and found that, with some effort and very little overheads, I could become a self-employed bookkeeper.
Carried out some research and landed on Training Link's website. The deciding factor in me calling them was their awards; in my opinion, these things aren't handed out for nothing, and the ICB seem to be internationally recognised.
So here I am, studying with them and finding the course thorough, informative and very good value for money - I found this old thread and thought I'd give an up-to-date appraisal to show other readers that they might not be as bad as they used to be!
It's only my opinion at the end of the day, and if people take umbrage with it, then I'm happy to remove the comment and take myself off the forum.
I had no idea my own personal comments would be scrutinised in such a manner, but I'm new to all this :)

Regarding the rest of your sentence...Why would the company in question post negative comments about itself?!!
They wouldn't. They would use a fake/astroturfing account to post the original post inviting people to comment on the company (thus it gets mentioned to those who don't know about it). Their competitors then use a similar fake account to post negative comments, and the company then rebuts those with another fake account and presto a thread full of fake accounts.

Previous to my first post, the last time anyone posted on this thread was back in 2012, and I can assure you that no one has asked me to post anything. I simply felt the need to post something here as I found it whilst researching various providers a few months ago and felt it needed a fresh appraisal. I happily acquiesce to your superior knowledge on the subject of fake accounts and “astroturfing” (I’ve only ever played football on that!!!)

I’m not posting anything further on this – I simply answered the original question of “Training Link – Any good?” Sorry if you feel my account is ‘fake’, but I can assure you it’s not. I’m just a student who appreciates the service that I’m getting.
