Trademark

Hi,

I'm about to launch an online odd-job/freelancing marketplace website and need to trademark the name and logo. I wonder what the best way to do this is? I'm on a budget so I'm really after the cheapest possible method that works!

I'm also not entirely sure what category of trademark this comes under so any advice on this would, be very useful.

Any help is much appreciated and let me know if you need more details.

Thanks for the replies. Are there any drawbacks to registering it in my own name or should I do it under the company? If I did it in my own name how would they know I was using it or does that not matter?

The main difference is that if you sell the company, and the trademark is owned by the company, you'll sell it with the trademark. If it's yours, then you may be asked by the investor to transfer its ownership to your ltd company.
