Trade show competition

I wondered are there any legal (or other) pitfalls to running a competition at a trade show.

Its a B2B product (software for use in a school) and the competition prize is a free copy of the software.

Possibly visitors would drop their contact details into a box and it would be a random draw. Alternatively, we might ask them to create a slogan "I like the product because...". In that case the winner would be the best slogan.

Is there anything we need to be aware of?

I think the main concern I have is if there are any gambling/lottery laws I might fall foul of.

I vaguely remember reading something about those phone in competitions on TV, the reason they ask a stupid question is so that it counts as a game of skill rather than a lottery.
