Trade account

A new customer, who has ordered twice recently, has sent me an email asking if she can open a trade account.

Now I only sell retail and my website is limited such that I can't offer quantity discounts or a separate customer login for the regulars for instance.

I am not sure how to handle this query, I can only give her a permanent discount which I have done for regular customers (they have to type in the code at checkout). People seem happy with 10% discount so far.
I can't offer much more until I buy direct from the manufacturers. Most of my supplies currently comes from wholesalers hence the margin is tighter than if I were to buy all the supplies from manufacturers.

By trade account, could she mean 'pay on invoice' which is something I don't do...

If you are considering a credit account run a credit report first if you can - I subscribe to an online credit checking company which gives me unlimited credit checks which is handy before I go giving money away.
If you do decide to give them a credit account then get them to pay for the first lot of goods before supplying the second lot.
