TPS checker needed low volume and free

We are trying to compile a mail list. Although initially I was happy to call any target businesses I now realise that TPS registration could be a serious thing if we upset somebody on the register. I have been using the free service on the tpsmanage website but it only allows 5 checks a day. This causes painfully slow progress.

We have low volumes, if I could check 20 a day I would be happy, so don't want to pay for a service at the moment. Does anybody know if there is somewhere where this can be done.

We use it and its cheap and acurate.

Remember that you have to check the data every 28 days against the list to ensure that there are no new additional and maintain your compliance.

You could try www.numbercheck.co.uk

First 50 checks are free, but have to be used inside of 7 days. Then you can pay £20 + VAT for 2,000 checks, which have to be used inside of a year.

You can check one number at a time, or copy and paste in x numbers (maybe all those being called that day) and check in one go.

A few years back either Opal or Kingston (I can't remember which) offered this service for 0.2p per minute extra charge which seemed reasonable at the time.

The reason that free TPS checking is rare and limited is that to subscribe to the TPS and CTPS registers as a licensee (of which we are one) costs c.£6k per annum. At my website, just Google 121prodata, you can screen up to 1,500 numbers one-at-a-time for just £15+vat (our minimum order) and be up and running instantly.

Or if you get larger lists together you can screen up to 2,500 numbers in 5 blocks of 500 also for £15+vat.

You can do up to 10 free checks a day on ukphonebook dot com - the site checks both TPS and CTPS so you're covered should somebody have listed themselves on the wrong register. They're as cheap as 80p per 1000 numbers if you use up all your free checks.
