Hi, everyone.

I have a corner shop selling grocery foods etc. I am using Retail Man 2.0 as my Epos software system. For the hardware, I am using a second hand Desktop PC with a normal standard computer monitor, and the keyboard and the mouse.

During day to day operation, I found the keyboard and the mouse are the pain. So I am thinking to change to Touch screen monitor.

Should I look for a professional one or just normal personal computer touch screen monitor?

these personal computer touch screen all are around £100, good price.

S19E200NY, good screen size, only got VGA input, require windows 8 system, no speaker, include VGA cable

S19E450MW, a little bigger size, got VGA/DVI input, also require windows 8 system, with speaker, include VGA cable and Audio cable

T2014, bigger size, got VGA/DVI input, compatible with windows 7/8/8.1, no speaker, include VGA cable and DVI cable.

Resistive Touch Screens:
Resistive touch screens designed for retail have been tested and are a good investment as they provide a reliable solution for 3-5 years in heavy retail applications like convenience stores or bars.
While in many cases, a capacitive touch screen is preferred over a resistive screen for its greater responsiveness and sensitivity, resistive tends to be less expensive.

In the past, resistive touchscreens have usually been less expensive than capacitive touch screens. Now that capacitive touchscreens are becoming more prevalent, however, they are becoming more affordable.

Advantages of Capacitive Touch screens:

Great durability: One advantage of capacitive touch screens is that they tend to be more rugged than resistive touch screens, especially under heavy use. Heavy users may find that frequently-used areas on a resistive touch screen start to wear down and may become unresponsive. Capacitive touchscreens don’t have this issue.

Reliability: If a capacitive touch screen does happen to get cracked it will most likely continue to work as usual. On the other hand, resistive touchscreens will in most cases stop working if any part of the screen is damaged.

This is an important advantage of capacitive touchscreens because it allows an operator to continue to collect data until they can get their screen repaired, whereas with a resistive touch screen you may have to forego further data collection until the screen is fixed.

Future-proofed: Because the technology industry is trending more and more towards capacitive technology, using a capacitive touch screen will help ensure a smooth transition to, as well as compatibility with, future advancements.

Multi-touch capability: Capacitive touch screens are designed to provide multi-touch capability, which means that they can easily register more than one input at a time. So when the time comes that the operating system will allow it, you’ll be able to “pinch to zoom,” on a capacitive touch screen, whereas resistive touchscreens are extremely limited in this regard.
