Top tips for startup business success

Hello everyone

It's day three of Global Entrepreneurship Week, and the focus today is on startups and startup issues.

So I thought it would be great to hear everyone's one top tip to achieve startup success?

What is the one thing to bear in mind when starting a business?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts...

Thanks

Happy Entrepreneurship Week and Startup Day!

Ok, this is what we do but it even applied to us too.

Too many entrepreneurs only count on their passion, friends and family feedback on their business idea. Who has never seduce their family circle?

This is not enough, properly survey, ask feedback to your target market, your potential clients.
Do they like your product / service? Why?
Would they buy it? Why

Rather it is positive or negative feedback, you need it!

We are still a new start up and from our own experience I would say research is paramount to analyse demand as best as possible. For us as a retail business location was key too and having enough cashflow - both of which we got wrong on reflection! Of course you learn from your mistakes but expensive ones can be very painful!

Indeed, this is what we say. It is maybe better to spend a bit more time and money first to make things right (even if not everything can be planned though).

I hope things got better now and I wish you the best!

Market and target audience research, achievable goals, correct business location and enough money - these things are certainly important. But I'd like to add some more top tips for me. First, don't panic if something goes wrong. You must be ready to meet difficulties and resolve them. Don't try to do everything yourself. A wise business owner knows that it's better to ask for help. Even if you have a small budget you you can enlist the help of your friends or volunteers. One more thing is to remember about the personal approach. Communicate with your customers, let them leave feedbacks. If you feel you need a website, it's better to find money and develop it. The same thing is about mobile applications. That investments will return, believe me. At last the most important thing for me - your business idea should be unique. If you offer something exclusive, innovative and rare, customers will surely appreciate that.
