I've been reading through a lot of these on google lately, It seems the theme for 2012 is phone app's and internet marketing in general.

I want to know what you guys think are the top 10 business idea's for 2012. I am going to be writing a blog relating to this so all idea's are appreciated!

Have a good weekend guys,

Hi Dave,

To me your question is unclear. Are you asking for the top 10 Business ideas, or the top 10 marketing ideas?

There is an obvious distinction, as there are thousands of business ideas, and lots of ways to market each of them, apps and general internet marketing being just two possibilities.

Cheers

Tim

Starting a business and taking a business to great height is not easy, there has to have good and innovative business ideas. As you all might know that after starting a business is very important to promote the business and for this, online marketing and offline marketing both are necessary. Online marking is done through SEO, offline marketing through advertising agency, these agencies would make good public relation, do live broadcasting of company's product, media placement etc for promoting the business.

Apps are very very hard to make money from.
The biggest problem at the moment is all the social network stuff is overkill. There is too much information and the guys who are going to make the next big cash are the ones that can filter out and sort stuff rather than adding material in.

Not sure if it's the best idea for 2012 but for anyone short of ideas I always think that looking at industries that have little or no web presence, or perhaps a very poor web experience, and then assessing if the general 'offer' can be simplified and made more accessible to a wider audience would be a good place to start.

Also, along similar lines, is there a service you have used or a product you have purchased where you have thought, 'this buying experience is really poor', but you know (or have a gut feeling) that the vendor is making a lot of money from it?

Depending on the barriers to entry they could be a ripe opportunity for a new business startup.

I have just set up a local advetising directory localadvertisingspace.com, where local businesses or individuals can sell (or trade) advertising space. I think it is a great idea and might help local businesses to survive in this economic climate. I wanted it to help local companies to create advertising links with other local companies.
