Tips on Marketing to Niche

Ok fair point. Yes I don' agree with you. I think they are missing out in a big big way. Time to change their methods.

And there you have set yourself the biggest, most challenging task in marketing- to re-educate your target market. I hope you have deep pockets and plenty of time.

As others have said, you have to start thinking about their wants and needs and not trying to shoehorn your supposed benefits into the trade

Tradesmen might sound like a good niche, but it is really far too broad to start off with. Pick a sector, look at how they operate, how they differentiate themselves and, in particular, how they pick up work. Most good ones don’t want more customers - they might want better customers though.

Thank you Mark, I do agree with lots of what you say here. We are not aiming to become a huge company, my initial goal is 100 customers then to look at it again from there.

I can convince 100 people, I am sure of that, and once I have done that, they will convince their friends for me.

Hi Joe me again....still flu'ed up but getting better.

Back to basics...is this your plan?

1. Find tradesmen registered on checkatrade (or similar) who have low ratings (need more work)

2. Approach by email with the intention of helping them get more clients.

3. Get a conversation going by email or phone.

4. Aim to sell them a website (or a better website)

Have I understood correctly?

There is a few more elements to it and I am working on many more, but yes it is as basic as that at the moment. But I am building a referral program and Improving funnels with more targeted awareness and niche focused landing pages.
